Music Educator

Double Bassist/Music Educator Nicholas Feigenbaum holds a Bachelors of Music (BM) in Music Business from the Crane School of Music, Masters of Music (MM) in Music Performance from Stony Brook University, and an Advanced Certificate and NYS Certification in Music Education from CUNY Queens College's Aaron Copland School of Music.

Nicholas is a considerate and caring educator, with a passion for diverse and interesting music. Nicholas believes in creating a safe classroom environment, where every student can feel included and heard. He is constantly exploring new techniques and diverse repertoires to bring different perspectives and experiences to his students. Nicholas also believes in blending music technology into the classroom, as a way to bring music into more students lives.

While Nicholas' primary instrument is the double bass, he has playing experience with violin, viola, cello, saxophone, trumpet and tuba. He also has knowledge of basic instrument repair, and is continuing to further his knowledge to help future students and families who may not be able to afford expensive repairs.

Nicholas is a lifelong learner, and when he is unsure or inexperienced with something, he makes an effort to seek expert guidance. Nicholas is currently taking private lessons on secondary instruments and conducting to improve as a teacher and mentor. 

Nicholas practices the Rabbath and Vance schools of double bass, which focuses on ergonomic playing, as well as expressive music making.
